telep forge · terms of service

terms.

plain-language terms for using the hosted telep forge studio. last updated .

1. agreement

These terms are between you and Telep IO ("we", "us"), the operator of Telep Forge. They apply to the hosted studio intended to run at studio.telep.tools and to the publishing features it provides. By signing in and using the studio, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the studio.

The Forge codebase is separately released under the MIT license. That license governs the code. These terms govern your use of the hosted service.

2. the service

Telep Forge is a website editor and publishing studio. It lets you create content websites, choose a visual style, edit pages and sections, preview them, save private drafts, optionally edit through AI chat, and publish the site to a private GitHub repository and a Vercel project in accounts you own.

Forge is currently in preview. Its capabilities and limits are described on the overview and in the docs. Features described there as not implemented are not part of the service, and nothing on those pages is a promise to build something by a particular date.

3. accounts

  • You sign in with your own GitHub account and connect your own Vercel account or team. You are responsible for those accounts, for keeping them secure, and for the authorizations you grant.
  • You must be allowed to create repositories on the GitHub account and projects in the Vercel account or team you connect.
  • You can revoke Forge's access at any time from GitHub's and Vercel's own settings. Forge stops working for that account once you do.
  • Telep IO owns the Forge GitHub App and Vercel integration registrations. You own the installations you create on your accounts.

4. your content

You own your content. The text, structure, and images you add to a website, the generated repository, and the deployed site are yours. Using Forge does not transfer ownership to us and does not license your content under the MIT license.

Permission to operate the service. So that Forge can work, you give us permission to store, process, transmit, and display your content, and to publish it on your behalf to the GitHub and Vercel accounts you connect and, if you use AI chat, to send it to our AI provider. We use this permission only to provide, secure, and fix the service.

You must have the rights. You are responsible for making sure you may publish everything in your site, including linked images, and that publishing it does not break any law or anyone's rights.

Publishing is public. Deploying a site makes its pages and the images they reference publicly reachable, even though the source repository is private. Saving a draft does not publish it.

5. ai features

If you use AI chat, the current website content, your recent conversation, and your requested edit are sent to OpenAI to produce the edit. AI output can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing it before you save or publish. The privacy page describes what is sent and how.

6. acceptable use

Do not use Forge to:

  • publish content that is illegal, that infringes someone's intellectual property or privacy, or that you do not have the right to publish;
  • publish malware, phishing pages, or content that impersonates a person or organization;
  • break, probe, overload, or bypass the security of the service or of the accounts and providers it connects to;
  • use another person's GitHub or Vercel account without permission;
  • violate GitHub's, Vercel's, or OpenAI's own terms through your use of Forge.

7. third-party services and charges

  • Forge relies on GitHub, Vercel, and OpenAI. Your use of those services through Forge is subject to their terms, and we do not control them.
  • Hosting runs in your Vercel account or team. Usage limits and any charges follow your Vercel plan, and you pay them directly to Vercel. Vercel's Hobby plan is intended for personal, noncommercial use, so a business site may need a paid plan.
  • Domains are registered and paid for through your own registrar.
  • These terms do not set any price for Forge itself. If we introduce fees, we will publish them and update these terms before they apply to you.

8. availability and changes to the service

Forge is a preview service. We do not promise any particular uptime, and we may change, pause, or discontinue features or the service. Because generated sites are ordinary static sites in your own accounts, they keep running on Vercel even if the Forge studio is unavailable or shut down. If we plan to shut the studio down, we will try to give notice on this site.

9. ending use

  • You can stop using Forge at any time and revoke its access in GitHub and Vercel. Your repositories, Vercel projects, and deployed sites stay in your accounts and are unaffected.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or if we discontinue the service.
  • There is no self-service account deletion in the studio today. To ask us to delete the records we hold about you, contact us. The privacy page explains what those records are.

10. disclaimers and limitation of liability

Forge is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free, that publishes will always succeed, or that AI output will be accurate. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for lost data, or for hosting charges, arising from your use of Forge. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

11. changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is material, we will note it on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use Forge after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. contact
